Steamcream Returns

About a decade ago, back when blogging and social media was still fun and friendly, the beauty world was introduced to a unique Japanese brand called  "Steamcream.”The multi-purpose cream is created using vegan, cruelty-free ingredients that are combined with the brand's unique steam emulsification method.

They were wildly popular for a time, not just for the product in the tins, but the tins themselves. The brand had designs on them for almost every occasion as well as regularly stocked designs and it was fun to collect and re-purpose the empty tins.

I did a bit of digging and found the five tins I still have, all of which are happily fulfilling another use as storage of various types.

From left to right: Parade, Freedom & Discipline, unnamed Daisy print, Con Amore and the unnamed Orange print.

The brand is back with new products including Steamcream with SPF 30, pump bottles and a new oil-to-milk cleansing balm. And the designs on the tins and bottles are as unique and collectible as ever.

Steamcream is made from an oat derivative blended with almond and jojoba oils and cacao butter which makes it very rich, but lightweight. However, if your skin is on the oily side, you may find it a bit too rich.

I’m ready to re-stock on cleanser, so I am going to give the new cleansing balm a try. Isn’t it nice when you reconnect with an old favourite?
