The Rowan Tree

Sometimes called the Wizard's Tree, the Rowan is known for protecting against evil.

For centuries, people have planted Rowans near houses and churchyards to ward off witchcraft. It is thought to be at its most protective when full of red berries, as they are this time of year.

Also known as Mountain Ash, it is a favourite tree with wildlife.

  1. I love its leaves and berries, but I know a lot of homeowners don't like how messy they can be when the shed both.

  2. I love rowan trees and their association with the supernatural. My parents have one that turn fiery orange/red in autumn.
