Easter

We are getting less rain and more sun as Spring settles in but we are still in that awkward period when its Spring in the sun, Winter in the shade. The daffodils are nearly done for another year as are the snowdrops and crocuses. The Japanese maple in the backyard is coming into leaf and the peony bush has a number of new shoots that are almost a foot above the ground now.

It was cold this morning on the early a.m. dog walk and the canal was as high as I've seen it this Winter. We had heavy rain last night and I am so done with it after four months of damp and dank.

Easter weekend is nearly here and its our anniversary on Friday. We will spend the weekend quietly. As a rule we don't travel when school is out or on long weekends in this country. The traffic is worse than usual and accommodation is more expensive. But next week we are off to the Dorset coast for a few days.

I hope all is well wherever you are and Happy Easter!
